Creative Critical Writing Workshop November 2019 Doma, Valletta Supported by Arts Council Malta, Project Support Grant
An Paenhuysen (Berlin) is invited to Malta to present the workshop: Creative Writing in Art Criticism. The course will be relevant to those either interested in, or already engaged in writing for the arts, from bloggers and commentators, to anyone writing for online and print media, academia, and or responsible for creating content and communications from within arts and cultural organisations and institutions.
We see an urgent need for the development of skills in critical and creative writing in Malta. In the wake of the European Capital of Culture year and in the face of a significant rise in small to large cultural organisations and events, it is essential to foster a high standard of writing and critical analysis in the field. This will enable local writers to contribute to both local and international publications, covering exhibitions and events taking place in Malta and beyond. As the local arts scene strives to place itself in an international context, it is vital that the people responsible for communicating about these activities have the necessary skills and confidence to lead a critical discourse .
This is an exciting opportunity to offer something new to professional and aspiring writers and communicators, under the expert tutelage of An Paenhuysen, who is highly regarded in her field.
